Short CV

Dr. Andrea Reimuth works as a Post-Doc researcher at the Teaching and Research Unit for Human Environment Relations at LMU Munich. She completed her study in environmental engineering with a focus on risk management and environmental modeling at Technical University Munich in 2016 and finished thesis about the influence of residential PV-coupled batteries on the regional energy system at LMU Munich in 2020. Her main expertise lies in the application and further development of land surface processes and land use change models. Dr. Reimuth’s current research covers the assessment of future risk trends and vulnerability to environmental hazards. Within this context, she focuses on the simulation of future urbanization trends and land use changes on regional to local scale. Combining qualitative future scenarios with quantitative methods, she assesses influences of urban growth and the social-economic development on the risk changes and evaluates the effects of different land-use planning strategies. Her core areas of interest cover Metropolitan regions in Southeast Asia. She is currently engaged in several interdisciplinary research projects investigating climate change adaptation strategies and the governance of risk reduction in different contexts.
