During my studies in Geosciences, I became interested in the chemical processes between the atmosphere, hydrosphere and geosphere. During my Bachelor, I had the opportunity to investigate the variability of sulfur isotopes and mineralogical composition of mineral precipitates from the Reykjanes geothermal system. During my master thesis, I had the chance to perform experiments to investigate tin mobilization and transport in magmatic-hydrothermal fluids and the formation of Sn(-W) deposits. Currently, I am working on a PhD-project on prebiotic synthesis in volcanic eruptions caused by volcanic lightning as a part of the CRC 235 "Emergence of Life". The project aims to explore the possibility of prebiotic synthesis in volcanic systems experimentally. We developed an experimental setup in which volcanic discharges are artificially generated in different atmospheres by the eruption of ash. Furthermore, alteration experiments under reducing conditions are performed on these ashes.
